On the statistical significance of grain-scale lattice rotation results

The statistical significance of grain-scale lattice rotation results is analysed. case the Ref. [1] specifically considered. Quantitative elements theory statistics are applied to determine precisions (standard errors) and size representative volume element (RVE), in terms minimal number grains necessary obtain results. It shown that defined sufficient precision support conclusions made. In general, RVE size, i.e. numbers derive on trends over all grains, range between a few tens about 200. proposed method general can easily be other data sets their own sizes.
